About TimerHub
Free time and date tools that give a straight answer, show how they got it, and stay out of your way.
Last updated: November 4, 2026
TimerHub is a free collection of time and date tools for people who work across time zones, plan around dates, or just need a timer. It covers the current time in world cities, time zone conversion, meeting planning, calendars, date calculators, countdowns, sunrise and sunset, moon phases, public holidays, and timers. There is no account to create and nothing to install.
How the answers are calculated
- Live times come from your device clock. Time zones, UTC offsets and daylight saving changes come from the IANA time zone database built into your browser, so a change in the rules reaches TimerHub when your browser updates.
- Date arithmetic (days between dates, ages, business days, week numbers) uses the Gregorian calendar. Week numbers follow ISO 8601: weeks start on Monday and week 1 contains the year's first Thursday.
- Sun and moon times are computed from each city's coordinates. Equinox and solstice times use Jean Meeus's algorithms and agree with published values to within about a minute.
- Holidays are generated from a maintained open-source holiday dataset. Regional holidays and one-off government declarations can differ from what is listed, so confirm dates that matter.
- Timers measure elapsed wall-clock time rather than counting ticks, so they stay accurate when the tab is in the background.
Data sources
- IANA Time Zone Database (via the browser's Intl API) — time zones, UTC offsets and daylight saving rules.
- GeoNames cities15000 — city names, coordinates, populations and time zones.
- date-holidays — public holidays for about 200 countries.
- SunCalc — sunrise, sunset, golden hour and moon phases.
- Jean Meeus, Astronomical Algorithms — equinox and solstice times.
Editorial policy
Every tool page carries a short “Quick answer” and a last reviewed date. We review the explanatory copy when a tool changes and at least once a year, and re-check daylight saving and holiday data each autumn before the new year's pages go live. We don't publish ratings, testimonials or claims we can't check.
Found a wrong time, date or holiday? Send it through the contact form with the page and what you expected. Corrections are made as soon as they are confirmed.
Privacy in one paragraph
The tools run in your browser. The dates, cities and timer settings you enter are not sent to our server; preferences such as your world clock cities are kept in your browser's local storage. See the privacy policy and cookie policy for the analytics we use. The site shows no ads.
