Frequently asked questions

Are business days just weekdays?

Yes. Business days count Monday through Friday and exclude weekends. Public holidays are not deducted, since they vary by country: the timeline shows them for the country you pick, and the Business Days Calculator can subtract them.

What does the timeline show?

The whole range as one strip: a tick at each month start, shaded weekends, a dot for each public holiday in the country you choose, and a line for today if it falls inside. Ranges longer than two years zoom out to month or year ticks.

Does the count include both the start and end dates?

The total is the number of full days between the two dates. For example, from the 1st to the 3rd is 2 days.

What does the human breakdown mean?

It expresses the same span as whole years, months, and days, which is easier to read for long ranges.

Does date order matter?

No. You can enter the dates in any order and the calculator always shows the absolute difference.
